Quick Question:

Monday or Friday… Which of these days in your week challenges you the most?

· You would assume that Mondays are the hardest day for most people to remain true to their God given identity as the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

· But Fridays can also be a real challenge. For many, the pressures of the week are off and the freedom of the weekend are on.

Solution:

The solution to either period of challenge is the same. Invest in your true self and strengthen your soul through times of real devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ.

· Spend some time in prayer before the pressures of the day mount too high.

· Open the Word of God and hear more from the love letter your creator has provided.

· Pop in the earbuds and get your heart into a place of worship and praise before the wave of the day looms large over you.

You can start by reading the passage we are working on today:

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Matthew 5:13-16 NIV-11

· Remind yourself… I am loved by the Lord. Thanks to the grace of Jesus Christ, I am a child of the living God!

· Reflect on the fact that God has called YOU to carry his life giving truth and his eternal light to the people around you today. You have been chosen and called.

· Pray that the Lord will prompt you through his Holy Spirit to see those with whom God wants you to be salt and light today.
