How Majestic?
How often do you step back from your entertainments, from your work, from your worries and distractions, and reflect on the works of creation? When was the last time you paused everything and studied the intricacy of life, of a plant, of the clouds passing by?
When this life seems to be nothing but chores, conflict and chaos, it is time to get up, put the phone down, and go consider the majesty of creation.
In the passage that follows, we can hear how such a time of reflection will bring us more in line with the beauty and glory of God:
“LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!”
Get Up and Go!
Find the time today to take this Psalm for a walk. Listen to this message, read these words while you are able to see and hear the beauty that the Lord has provided all around you.
· Reflect on how you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
· Eyes off the problem and onto the one who has the solution!
