Into His Image

As followers of Jesus Christ, we agree that our number one goal and purpose in life is to be conformed into the image of Christ. We agree that it is God’s plan and desire for us to share in his nature, thoughts, attitudes, and truth.

As we mature in our faith, we become conformed into his image. This is not a lessening of our unique nature or purpose, but a fulfillment of our created purpose that brings us joy and contentment.

I love how this truth is shared with us in the following:

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV11

Faithfulness

Part of our journey of being transformed into his image includes sharing in the various descriptions of God’s nature and being.

One such attribute of God that should accompany everyone who is seeking to be transformed into the image of Christ is that of faithfulness.

As we draw near the Lord, we begin to share in his attribute of faithfulness in every area of life. This is a great gift given by the Lord. The more we are aware of this gift, the more we will see the faithfulness of God in our own lives.
