He First Loved Us 
One of the most important truths in all of the Bible is that God is the source of real love. Yes, we have the ability to love others, and even to love the Lord, but we are not the prime movers, the first to love.

In creation, we see the love of God being poured out into every atom that came from the creative power of the Lord’s word. We see the love of God being given to the first man and woman as they are made into the image of God himself and given purpose and meaning in relation to God’s covenant of love.

It is important that we see this truth, “We love because he first loved us. ”Hear this powerful message in the passage below: “This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us.”1 John 4:13-19 NIV11

 Reflection As you go throughout your day today, consider these amazing points being given to you in this message from the Word of God: · God gave us the gift of his Holy Spirit· God the Father sent the Son to be our Savior· God makes his home in the heart of the faithful· We can rely on the love of God.· God’s nature is that of love.· God cannot and will not deny his own loving nature.· God is at work in the faithful, helping them become more like Jesus.· God’s love drives out fear and anxiety.· God’s love is a promise that our punishment has already been paid.· God’s love makes us whole, complete, perfect in his eyes. Bring up these points throughout your day. Reflect on the truth of God’s love.
