You have a powerful story to tell. If your life has been turned around by the work of Jesus Christ, your story of life-change is one of the most compelling proofs of the existence and grace of God that anyone could ever hope to provide to those seeking the truth. Tell your story or start a new one by trusting in Jesus Christ today. Read on to hear more.

One of the most compelling proofs of the existence of God and of the power of the gift of salvation found in Christ Jesus is that of the person whose life has been radically changed by their connection to Jesus.

Life-Change

Life-change is powerful and undeniable.

When someone submits their life to Jesus Christ in such a way that their actions, attitudes, words, and their overall view of the surrounding world is fundamentally altered into the image and command of Christ, this is something that cannot be dismissed or denied.

In my own life, I have watched the Lord work in me in ways that cannot come from any other source. These examples of life change are real and powerful and cannot be written off as a coincidence.

In the following passage from 1 John we can hear the necessity of life-change for those who have submitted themselves to the leadership and authority of Jesus Christ.

3 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. 4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

(1 John 2:3-6 NIV11)

Descriptive

This message is descriptive not prescriptive. By that I mean the following, we do not grow into being children of God by choosing to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, rather, it is because of our adoption into the family of God through Jesus Christ that we desire to follow.

You and I must acknowledge the truth concerning the claims of Jesus Christ to be the Immanuel, God in flesh, God the Son, the very presence of God who broke into human existence so as to become identified with us as he bore the penalty for our sin, thus providing us with a right relationship with our Creator.

When we acknowledge this truth with real faith, trusting and submitting to Jesus Christ as the savior of our souls and the Lord of our lives, then and only then, are we made able to become his disciples or followers.

Our Need

We cannot obey the Lord without his redemptive work in us. We are too addicted to sin and self. But when we submit to the Lord, we find that he has always been at work in us, molding us and shaping us into his own image.

This is what it means for us to obey the word of Jesus Christ and to seek to mold our actions, attitudes, words, and actions into his image and nature.

See Change

Are you someone who claims to know Jesus?

If your knowledge of the Lord has come through faith and submission to the person of Jesus Christ, then you will see fruit of this faith coming out in your changed life.

·  If you do not see evidence of life-change, then my friend, it is time to hit your knees and call on the name of Jesus to be the only authority in your life.

·  It is time to embrace the gift of the Holy Spirit and allow the Lord to be the only object of your worship.

·  It is time to admit your need for salvation, redemption, and grace and turn to the risen King of Kings who has come to rescue you from this life of sin and pain.

Agree

If you have called on Jesus Christ by faith and he is your only Lord and Savior, then you will agree with this truth presented in 1 John:

3 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. 4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

(1 John 2:3-6 NIV11)

If you are in Christ, rejoice. Be glad.

·  You are being changed from your old ways and old self into the very image and nature of the Lord Jesus.

·  Let others see this change in you. Share it with all who are willing to hear you.

·  Your story of life-change is the most compelling proof of the existence and work of the Lord God Almighty that any of us can offer to those who have not yet called on the Lord by faith.

Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, I submit all that I am to your leadership and authority. You are the Lord of my life and the Savior of my soul. I want to see more of you and less of me in all of my attitudes, words, and actions. Help me through the work of your Holy Spirit to live as you lived, to love as you loved, to worship the Father as you worshiped. Thank you Lord.

In Christ,

Ryan Laden
