Know Thy Neighbor
By: Pastor Victor Borchard
Who represents Zacchaeus in your life? Zac was an unbeliever that Jesus (1) looked up to, (2) knew by name and (3) spent time with. Zacchaeus was a lost man in Jericho with a story. He had a name (Zac), an occupation (tax collector), a socio-economic status (rich) and a height (short).
Who are your unsaved friends, relatives, associates and neighbors? List them by name. Look at your list. Take time getting to know their story by listening to them. Jesus called Zacchaeus by name. If you don’t know the names of your neighbors, you might ask them. If you’re embarrassed to ask because you should know it, you might check out https://blesseveryhome.com where you’ll find great help and training to bless your neighbors.
Jesus literally looked up to Zacchaeus because he was in a tree. We can look up to lost people in the sense of highly esteeming them because they’re made in God’s image too.
Remember to pray for your list of lost people this week. May the mission of Jesus be accomplished in their life as he seeks and saves lost people. Even better than praying for them this week, pray for them now. In Jesus’ name, amen.
