As I said Sunday, “We need to lift our heads out of our phone, look up from the stuff of our busy world, take a leaf off of a tree, hold it up to the light and see what’s inside. See the complexity, the glory and the beauty that is around you all the time.”

Wonder

Understanding that we live in a purposefully designed world should inspire both wonder and worship. When we recognize design in creation, we’re reminded that we ourselves are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” We’re not cosmic accidents but intentionally crafted beings with purpose and value. 

Meaning

This truth gives profound meaning to our existence. 

God reveals Himself through both special revelation (Scripture) and general revelation (creation). While the Bible tells us who God is and what He has done, creation shows us His power, wisdom, and artistry. Both revelations work together to give us a fuller picture of our Creator. 

Response

The evidence of design around us invites a response. 

Will we rush through life, heads down, missing the glory displayed all around us? Or will we pause, look up, and allow creation to draw our hearts toward its Maker? 

Today

Today, commit to becoming more observant of God’s handiwork. Take time to notice details you typically overlook. Let each discovery become a moment of praise to the God who designed it all—including you—with purpose and love.

“They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”

(Psalm 102:26-27 NIV11)

  •   How might regularly taking time to observe and appreciate God’s design in creation change your perspective on challenges, strengthen your faith, and deepen your worship?

Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for surrounding me with evidence of your design and care. Help me to lift my eyes from distractions to see your glory displayed in creation. May each glimpse of your handiwork inspire deeper faith and more heartfelt worship. Thank you for designing me with purpose and for inviting me to know you through all you have made.
