The Bible repeatedly calls believers to help those in need, showing love as expressions of faith compassion and generosity.

Please check the following Key Bible Verses on Helping Others

  • Matthew 25:35-40 – Jesus emphasizes serving the needy: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me… Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” 
  • James 2:14-17 – Faith must be accompanied by action: “Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead” 
  • 1 John 3:17 – Compassion reflects God’s love: “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” 
  • Philippians 2:4 – Look beyond your own interests: “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others” 
  • Galatians 6:2 – Bear one another’s burdens: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” 
  • Proverbs 3:27 – Act when you have the power to help: “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act” 
  • Luke 10:33-34 – The Good Samaritan exemplifies mercy: “But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine” 
  • Hebrews 13:16 – God is pleased with generosity: “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased” 
  • Romans 12:13 – Practice hospitality and share with those in need: “Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality” .

These verses collectively teach that helping others is not only a moral duty but also a vital expression of faith. The Bible encourages believers to act with compassion, generosity, and humility, addressing both physical and emotional needs. By serving those in need, we reflect God’s love, honor His commandments, and demonstrate that faith is alive through deeds.

DINING WITH JESUS OUTCOME We are here to strengthen families and with God’s blessing we will see an increasing number of episodes helping us to bring people locally and from all nations to Jesus. All these people will make a difference in their families and in their community. We will build up an ongoing network of support with Evangelical Christian churches, the Christian community, nonprofit organizations, business owners and families to continue to strengthen families. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20 NKJ.
