The Whisper in the Static

Listening to God in a Noisy World

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” — John 10:27

Reflection:
We are people drenched in noise—our ears filled with headlines, opinions, alerts. But God’s voice rarely shouts. He whispers. He speaks in stillness, not spectacle. The problem isn’t that He’s silent; it’s that we’ve forgotten how to be quiet. God’s voice is often the voice we hear last, not because He isn’t speaking, but because we’ve filled every crack of silence with sound.

Quote:
“The tragedy of our time is that we no longer listen. We just wait for our turn to speak.” — Mike Yaconelli

Practice:
Find 10 minutes today with no phone, no music, no agenda. Just sit. Listen. Breathe. Ask God to speak—and wait.
