LETTING PRAYER BECOME LISTENING

THIS IS TABLE ROCK FELLOWSHIPPASTOR BILL MUIR DAILY DEVOTIONALS

Letting Prayer Become Listening
Allowing Prayer to become an opportunity to hear Jesus

“The Lord is near to all who call on him… in truth.” – Psalm 145:18

“Prayer is not about getting God to do what we want; it’s about becoming the kind of person who wants what God is doing.” – Tim Keller

Devotion
We often pray like God is far away. But what if the first step of prayer is not speaking—but noticing? Listening is how we receive what words alone can’t uncover.

Reflection
Do you enter prayer with expectations, or with openness?

Application
Today, start prayer with five minutes of silence. Don’t ask for anything. Just notice. Then ask: “What are You saying to me, God?”
