“COMFORTED AND CORRECTED”

THIS IS TABLE ROCK FELLOWSHIPPASTOR BILL MUIR (DEVOTIONALS)

Day 5 — “Comforted and Corrected”

“Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” — Psalm 23:4b

“Love that does not confront is not love at all.” — Brennan Manning

Thought:
The rod protects from danger; the staff guides and rescues. Both are instruments of care. God’s comfort is not passive—it is active, shaping, and sometimes corrective. True love does not merely soothe; it leads us away from harm.

We often resist God’s guidance because we mistake it for restriction. Yet the Shepherd’s tools are signs that we are not abandoned. Comfort comes from knowing we are cared for enough to be guided.

Reflection:
How do I respond when God redirects or corrects me?

Application:
Invite God to show you where His guidance is currently at work in your life.

Prayer:
Wise Shepherd, thank You for caring enough to guide me. Help me trust Your loving direction, even when it challenges me. Amen.
